until there is a private chatroom for MM holders, it's not competing. We have conversations there that don't need to/shouldn't take place on here. Many people are on discord channels to get info about crypto and metafora - some don't even know enough about crypto wallets to post on here

@0xf7adf35efdc673eab9c9984a4e364e13e3964831 good stuff so you knew what I meant. Each platform has it's own name for different 'rooms', 'channels', 'pages', 'groups'. Lighten up.

@dolphin if people see a new name around and they ask questions and want to engage we can't act like groupies and make them feel like outsiders or make jokes that can be misinterpreted. Our behavior is a sales tactic so we need to sharpen up in that regard. Questions should be answered properly and with the amount of care we'd like to feel when arriving in a new discord, or even worse, arriving to crypto! :) it's confusing and people don't need to feel like idiots

There needs to be a migration of the #MillionToken community from discord to Metafora.. if the existing hodlers don't use it, we can't expect anyone else to do it.
@TL needs to add support for easily posting gifs/giphy and emojis to brighten things up! Also polls would be nice... and maybe groups of some kind 🚀🚀🚀

@BankofHome will be really nice when we have different chat rooms/channels for different topics

@BankofHome thankfully TL is completely focused on building functionality. Unfortunately he doesn't want/need help in developing the platform at the moment - so people from the community help in other areas where they have expertise and so we don't waste TL's time.
|
@Flock he would probably ask if he wanted functionality/development help from the community. I don't think he'll trust people from discord enough to give them access to his project after all of the drama. Who knows people's intentions. Seems like it's something he will do privately or maybe he secretly has help but amongst trusted people.
|
@Flock he agreed to our help with changing the logo since that's something we can do as a community that doesn't involve touching his project's code. Gives us something to do while he is developing - multitasking and letting the functionality person focus on functionality and numerous creatives focus on helping to brand it.

Metafora suggestions for @TL
1. Lower the required MM for perks from 10 MM to 1 MM. I think having a lower requirement will attract more users, and it's less tempting to sell just 1 MM when price 2x or 3x, compared to having 10 MM when it happens. 2. I think everyone should be able to set usernames. Users talking here with their wallet adress as username is not only lessening the experience for them, but for everyone, even the users that actually meet the 10 MM requirement. People cant remember wallet adresses as easily as names, so having discussions with adresses makes it difficult to keep track of who is who. I have a compromise solution: Allow everyone to set custom usernames, but only allow users with 10 MM or more to have less restricted and more clean names. Users who dont own 10 MM could make usernames only 7 characters long, and automatically have their wallets last 4 characters added to the end of their username (mine would be WiwydF23), so only people with 10 MM can have neat looking usern

I’ve always wonder if the community complained about the original million logo and this logo is a motivation killer for techlead and he just takes it on the chin for DEFI sake. Honestly I think the time it takes to change something like a logo is time wasted how about focusing on functionality usability.
Don’t make the creator lose motivation for the project.
|
@Flock I also wonder how he felt/feels but that was before proper governance and that change was forced through by Diablo without any real discussion. That's why I think he should still be able to choose between the community's 2 favourite options as it's his baby at the end of the day. For metafora the community did the designs and really simplified the logo decision for TL so that he can focus on his portion and leave branding to people who don't choose stock images as logos so that he can quickly jump into making the project functional, as he did. We are unable to put any paid marketing behind this current logo as we will need to lose it very soon or be called out for being cheap and unoriginal. Might as well get the logo right while the functionality is being built out.

Million Token army!!! NEW LOGO OFFICIAL VOTE! https://gov.milliontoken.org/#/proposal/0xe00a997634a7ef63971438d20e42ce3fe37131c8df0bcb78cec2ce9e3080bd0b

@MM-Matt propose that to someone who makes governance votes if you want your voice heard but you should've spoken up last month. I'd argue the "correct" way to do it would be to vote to change the logo vs not change the logo FIRST and then once you've taken the leap you don't look back and you choose the direction forward otherwise too many biases come into play with "oh my fave option isn't winning, lets just stick with what I'm comfortable with".
|
@MM-Matt I say one thing remotely personal and I "tend" to do something? Been nothing but nice to almost everyone in this community if you want to waste your time and check on discord. Choosing a stock logo that TL agreed to change shows that the entire community accepts a lack of quality or originality and that's a bad look on all of us. No one said we need to keep the new logo forever but we shouldn't be taking our first steps into the world and starting off by marketing a junk logo as it's building a brand we can't keep.
|
@Flock yeah so I'm saying that we have rich whales with lots of MM but who may not have any branding sense, who could have designed the logo themselves, or who don't like TL's project (at the time there was a lot of disapproval from LionChat etc) and then vote for something weird. So the point was for the whole community, with commentary from people who understand branding, to narrow down the top few designs before doing an actual governance vote so that there were fewer options (more would have split the vote) and so that any of the chosen options would be seen as being accepted by a good majority of the community. Having 10 whales win a vote to keep the current stock logo would be branding-illiteracy - keeping the logo was never an option - so it's not in the governance vote.
