I think ETH is mostly "group think" / "herd mentality" at this point. It's not necessarly worth anything, the technology is frankly trash... It was first to market, antiquated by now. Most people (and defi projects) are on Polygon, Solana, Fantom, Avax or more scalable chains. Just my $0.02.
@techleadhd , The biggest asset of the metafora is not the twitter or fb like features. Like any other social platform, customer base is the biggest strength. We need to focus on getting more and more blockchain addresses to consume metafora while we developing the features iteratively. As we are the first to start web 3 blockchain communication we should massively market this parallel to dev work. Bcoz theres no gurantee that no one else would do similar development work if they have the time/money/resources. To be the first in the line would be an added advatage for us and we should use that strategically as we are the pioneers of web 3 blockchain communication for social interactions.
@MM-Matt the current logo is a stock, free logo that TL chose to fill the space while developing the meat and bones of the product. We'll be seen as a joke if we have cheaply used that as opposed to something the community designed in what is supposed to be a decentralized, high-value token & project. It's not an option on the vote because it's not an option... and we don't want whale votes going to waste on a very bad branding decision.
@MM-Matt my second point is not a personal opinion. A stock image which is not trademarkable or original in the slightest for a "millionaire's" token and something TL wants to make big is not going to work. Imagine in a few years when there are a few logos looking exactly the same because everyone in the world is allowed to use it. It's an idiotic branding decision.
@MM-Matt okay so let's say we keep the current logo - a stock logo with literally only the colour being changed by TL's own admission - is that good for the metafora and MM brand?
@MM-Matt propose that to someone who makes governance votes if you want your voice heard but you should've spoken up last month. I'd argue the "correct" way to do it would be to vote to change the logo vs not change the logo FIRST and then once you've taken the leap you don't look back and you choose the direction forward otherwise too many biases come into play with "oh my fave option isn't winning, lets just stick with what I'm comfortable with".
if it can be found on the first page of Adobe free logo maker then it shouldn't be an option. An option was disqualified for lack of originality so then technically TL's logo is disqualified too.
@MM-Matt I say one thing remotely personal and I "tend" to do something? Been nothing but nice to almost everyone in this community if you want to waste your time and check on discord. Choosing a stock logo that TL agreed to change shows that the entire community accepts a lack of quality or originality and that's a bad look on all of us. No one said we need to keep the new logo forever but we shouldn't be taking our first steps into the world and starting off by marketing a junk logo as it's building a brand we can't keep.
@Flock yeah so I'm saying that we have rich whales with lots of MM but who may not have any branding sense, who could have designed the logo themselves, or who don't like TL's project (at the time there was a lot of disapproval from LionChat etc) and then vote for something weird. So the point was for the whole community, with commentary from people who understand branding, to narrow down the top few designs before doing an actual governance vote so that there were fewer options (more would have split the vote) and so that any of the chosen options would be seen as being accepted by a good majority of the community. Having 10 whales win a vote to keep the current stock logo would be branding-illiteracy - keeping the logo was never an option - so it's not in the governance vote.
Honestly this dark theme doesn't work for me during the day its beautiful but not readable during the day. Take a look at how readable twitter is at day and night, whereas only at night metafora is readable, most tweets happens during the day. @TL please once again look into this.
