there has been proof of bots with human profile pictures on twitter mass replying to politicians to yet again push a narrative. they will have 100s of accounts that look like real people all responding to a Joe Biden tweet or a Donald Trump tweet with negative or positive feedback. all posting the same tweet word for word. "this is such a great policy!" or "this is a threat to our democracy".

in the end they're not even real people though. they're just there to make it seem like real people think that wa

one thing i should say is i think all sites need certain "rules" (not really rules in the traditional sense) to ensure the functionality of the site.

protection against spam and bots are the main one (which bots are now over 50%+ of all internet traffic, making us a minority here). counters against spam should be written in the code itself. there is no place for a "team of moderators" on a web3 site like this. subjective moderation is not very web3 like. the code should moderate all.

Imagine banning the word virgin. You're basically admitting to the world you're pathetic and can't communicate with other humans appropriately.

and to respond to what you just said, yes decentralized social media will obviously blow up over the 2020s as centralized shitholes eat themselves alive with rules/censorship. they will say "we didn't see web3 coming" and they will lobby BILLIONS to get it taken down *cough* (not a monopoly one bit) *cough*.

but it will inevitably fail. as more and more people see why decentralized social medias are important. of course, and decentralized social media that censors is instantly deemed useless

Hello world!
“Your Million Balance: 9.99 MM” someone feel like sending me 0.01mm?

in short: they're only allowed to ban words like "nigger" or "simp"/"virgin" (yes, twitch.tv has gotten THAT matriarchic that they ban even basic words used in everyday language to manufacture a narrative).

when you ban a word, you're trying to sculpt how people think. i don't inherently like vulgar speech myself. but when something is banned, all it does is show they have something to hide. not that it's false. the integrity of free speech means more than someones feelings.

well if things are decentralised then that can't happen easily...also disappearing messages would aid that

this is also why banning certain words is possibly the most harmful thing to ever be allowed on the web. firstly, its blatantly unconstitutional. of course a constitution is only as useful as it is enforced. and the top 5-7 sites on the web have a monopoly over what is written and typed on the internet. they spend billions to try and prove to the courts that they don't have a monopoly when they clearly do (as seen they banned the sitting president all on the same day off of the entire web).

I agree i - so let people post what they want then others can follow / hide as they like.

the internet has no shortage of centralized garbage where the owners eventually sell out to appeal to the newest flavor of the month propaganda whether its women being equal to men, or the 5th covid booster shot being the one that will save us, etc.

on these platforms, anyone who speaks out against the narrative is censored and ridiculed. eventually these platforms tell people what they think rather than being an outlet to express what they think.

True @Million.

anonymous twitter is a better idea I guess. Just follow who you find interesting! Easier to implement than a reddit type system. Perhaps make all messages disappear or archive after a few days / week to encourage new posts

but maybe next week the price will be higher, so maybe it's better to buy while we can afford a lot of MM's

I see your point 'i' - I argee once those commuities are established it's hard to post anything new. I tried to post about metafora on satoshi streetbets but the post was deleted by mods even though I have 750 karma
